All about the trip

Your guide will meet you at 7:45 in the central square of Bucharest. A soon as everybody has arrived, we will jump on your AC van and head north towards the old border between Romania and Transylvania. First stop is going to be Castle Peles in Sinaia, home of Romanian royal families for almost 100 years. With the beginning of the WWI Romania found itself in a very difficult position. King Ferdinand of Habsburg, German by birth, was inclining on helping The King of Germany, Wilhelm II. His wife, on the other hand, Queen Maria of Romania, English by birth was inclining towards the Allies. King Ferdinand originally chose to be neutral but 2 years later Romania joined the war on the side of the Allies and against Germany. A year later, after we exhausted our military resources, Romania chose for the 2nd time in this World War "the neutral zone". Next stop is going to be the Cemetery of the Unknown soldier where hundreds of Romanian, Hungarian, German, Russian, Austrian etc. soldiers that died in the war are buried.
