All about the trip

Experience an exciting full-day boat expedition to the southernmost point of South America: Cape Froward. Admire the rich wildlife including penguins, dolphins and whales and see the unique landscape of mountains and glaciers.

We check in at our office in Punta Arenas early in the morning and then travel by bus 50 km to Bahía Carrera. There, we board our boat and set sail towards Punta Santa Ana with Fuerte Bulnes on a rocky hill.

Passing the beautiful San Isidro Lighthouse we continue to Cape Froward. On the cruise we get plenty of opportunities to watch local marine life.

We will see cormorants, petrels and albatrosses flying above. There are large numbers of dolphins and sea lions swimming in the sea. The huge humpback whales occur here frequently as well.

The Magellanic penguins breed in coastal Patagonia and we can see their large colonies.

We explore the area of the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego. They are the most remote and pristine places in the world today.
