The waters off the Reykjanes peninsula coast is an important habitat for these marine mammals, mainly as a seasonal feeding ground. Rich in plankton and fish like a sand eel, herring, capelin, haddock and cod, our waters offer one of the best places to be for close encounters with these majestic marine giants.

Most common sightings include white-beaked dolphins (about 2,8m long), minke whales (10 m long), and humpback whales (15 m long). Occasionally we can spot orcas (up to 9 m long), sei whales (19 m) and fin whales (22 m), that appear at the surface.

There is a possibility to pick you up in Reykjanes area for 2000 ISK fee. In case you are interested, please send us an email to whaleiceland@whaleiceland.is on which address you would like to be picked up.
