All about the trip
The most popular Angkor sights and head further afield to two of Cambodia’s most sacred sites on this private door-to-door tour. Exploring with a guide, visit the mountainous Phnom Kulen National Park and swim in a waterfall. Then travel to the jungle-covered temple of Beng Mealea, with its Hindu-Buddhist fusion. Please note: Tour excludes entrance fees.
Join your driver and guide to head to the jungles of Phnom Kulen National Park. Considered by Khmers as the most sacred mountain in Cambodia, it is a place of pilgrimage. Main stops at Phnom Kulen include admiring the panoramic vistas from the massive reclining Buddha, the biggest of its kind in Cambodia, the “River of a Thousand Lingas” carving of sacred lingas on the river banks and the waterfalls of Phnom Kulen. We stop to take a dip in the cool waters and visit the nearby temple ruins. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Traveling through remote villages, you will have the opportunity to step back in time and discover Beng Mealea, a sprawling jungle temple covering just over one kilometer. Largely overrun by vegetation and not overly visited due to its remote location, the temple gives off an adventurous ‘lost temple’ vibe as you explore the piles of stones from its towers and courtyards, hidden amidst the thriving bush. After ample time to explore we head back to Siem Reap.
