All about the trip
Join us for this morning tour of Seoul, showcasing the best modern and traditional highlights that the Korean capital offers!
Together with your English-speaking tour-guide, we will visit Cheongwadae Sarangchae, Namsan Hanok Village, The N Seoul Tower and a shopping centre. Hotel collection is also included.
The unique buildings situated at Cheongwadae are totally unique and beautifully designed; all built in the Korean traditional style. The blue tiles and the smooth curved shape of the main office roofs are jaw-dropping. Approximately 150 thousand tiles compose the roof of the Blue House. A walk around the paths just outside the Blue House grounds is a pleasure as the surroundings are just so beautiful.
The newly opened Cheongwadae Sarangchae, which opened to the public on January 5th, 2010, is a history centre that gives visitors a chance to follow in the footsteps of the presidents of Korea and gain insight into the history of Seoul. It encompasses the past, present and even the future of Seoul as well as the entire nation. It serves as a tourist information centre that offers detailed information on World Cultural Heritage sites and assets.
Next up we will visit the Namsan Hanok Village. At Namsan Hanok Village there are five traditional Korean houses which have all been beautifully restored. All with a pavilion, a pond and a time capsule; these dwelling display the complete glory of Korean architecture
When you enter the front gate, you will see the vast valley and the Chunugak to the left of the pond. Along with the carp-filled pond, it is a splendid place where performances are often held. On the side you will see five traditional houses. These houses belong to various social ranks of the society from the common peasant to the king.
After seeing so much of traditional Korea, it is time to visit a modern spectacle of architectural accomplishment, the N Seoul Tower.
Opened to the public on 15th October 1980, The Seoul Tower was designated as a major tourist attraction where travellers can admire a beautiful panoramic view of Seoul. The 236 metre high Seoul Tower was built on the 243 metre high Mt. Namsan, which added to the tower's impressive height.
After 30 years of devoted support from tourists, teh tower was remodelled with a new look on 9th December 2005. As part of the overhaul, the letter 'N' now represents this ‘new’ look, with a total construction cost of 15 billion won having been invested in Seoul Tower's new look.
After visiting the tower we will also head to a popular shopping district before returning you to the city centre.
