All about the trip

In just two days you will visit and see most famous tourist destinations in Macedonia.

Walking tour in Skopje and visit to St Panteleimon monastery together with visit to Mavrovo National park on the way to Ohrid are topics of the first day.

Walking tour in Ohrid old town with visits inside the main Ohrid attraction is planned on the second day which will end with drive along the lake and visit to St Naum monastery.

Itinerary

	DAY 1:
	Spend the morning with our experienced and professional tour guide in strolling. Skopje city center and Skopje Old Bazaar. Visit the Church of St. Spas with its unique iconostasis from the 19th century. Pass across river Vardar on historical Stone bridge from 15th century. Visit Mother Teresa memorial house and the place where she was born in 1910. Have a traditional lunch, tasting some local dishes.
	In the afternoon, visit nearby Vodno mountain, part of nature just a few kilometers from the city center. Visit St. Panteleimon monastery with its unique fresco paintings from the 12th century.
	Later on, private transfer to the south part of Macedonia and Ohrid lake. Drive on the most picturesque road in the west part of Macedonia, passing Mavrovo National park, the canyon of river Radika and lakes made by the river Black Drim.
	Overnight in a hotel in Ohrid.
	DAY 2:
	Start the walking (2-3 hours light walking) tour with our experienced guide in Ohrid Old town. Because of the religious importance and its numerous churches and monasteries, Ohrid is also famous under the name “Macedonian Jerusalem”.
	According to the historical facts, there used to be 365 churches – a church for each day! In the 12th century, the city was also the seat of the Archbishop of Ohrid. Since 1979 the city and the lake of Ohrid are under the protection of UNESCO.
	Do not miss to have a nice panoramic picture from Ohrid fortress (inside) and to visit remains of the first Slavic university in the Balkans, today founded at Holy area of Plaoshnik (inside). Go inside the recently rebuild Church of St Clement (inside). Pass by the unique church of St. John – Kaneo (from outside). Enjoy a boat ride from Kaneo with a panoramic view of Oldtown (included). Finally, visit the cathedral church from the 10th century, St. Sofia (inside). You can have lunch at some of the many traditional restaurants by Ohrid lake. In the afternoon, light drive along the lake coast to visit another pearl located on the south part of the lake. St. Naum monastery complex (inside), with its unique church, originally built by St. Naum in the 9th century. As a final surprise – you can have an unforgettable boat ride above the springs of Black Drim river (to be paid on the spot).
	Drive back to Skopje.

Cancellation more than 30 days, prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
Cancellation within 30 to 10 days prior to the starting date. Clients are entitled to a 50% refund of the booking price.
