All about the trip
Join us for an unforgettable day to 'The Strawberry Farm' and Namiseom Island to escape busy Seoul for a day.
Our first stop after collecting you from your hotel in Seoul will be The Strawberry Farm!
Here at the farm you can pick your own strawberries and participate in a variety of activities at the Strawberry Village.
The Farm itself is located in Namyangju, in Gyeonggido Province on the eastern side of Seoul city. Driving from centre of Seoul to the farm, takes about one hour.
The strawberry farm is constructed from vinyl greenhouses which keep the temperature warm even in cold winter. Strawberry season in Korea is generally from January to May. You will be able to taste strawberries while you walk around and pick them. There will also be a jam making lesson after you have picked enough strawberries.
After enjoying a traditional Korean lunch of 'Dak Galbi' (veggie option available), we will head towards the famous, manmade island of Namiseom.
Otherwise known as 'Nami Island', the island itself was formed as a result of the construction of the Cheongpyeong Dam. It is well-known for being half-moon shaped and the gravesite of General Nami, who led a great victory against the rebels in the 13th year of the 7th king of the Joseon Dynasty.
Namiseom Island is 63 km away from Seoul in the direction of Chuncheon, and is famous for its beautiful tree lined roads. Since it is not far from Seoul, many couples and families come to visit.
A special feature of Namiseom Island is that there are no telephone poles. This is because all electric wires were built underground to keep the natural feeling of the landscape. The famous avenues of chestnut and poplar trees are situated all around the island. The island is a great spot to take some memorable photos at, so don't forget to bring your camera!
