All about the trip

Never surfed? Don’t worry we’ll teach you all the moves. Come and join us at our surf school where we’ll teach you all about the technique, equipment, environment and safety.

First of all, we will go over some of the fundamentals so you can try out the waves and practice your new skill. We will be surfing at Þorlákshöfn which is about 50 km from Reykjavik. This spot is a top-notch surfing spot for both beginners and advanced surfers. Combined with our friendly instructors, this activity is recommended for water sports enthusiasts.

Please make sure that you are able to swim. Also, you should not have a problem with wearing sometimes tight and constricting wetsuit. You must be at minimum 155 cm (5’1) tall and your weight should be at minimum 50 kg (121 lb). You must be at least 16 years old. This activity is not suitable for pregnant women.

Instructions

Once we see a good day for surf, we send out a notification to our waiting list with 2-4 days notice. Maximum participants are 14 and minimum 8. Ideally, we go out when the weather- and surf-forecast are suitable for beginners. That is winds, wave height/force as well as the tides.

To go on the waiting list you´ll have to book any day here on activity page and tell us what days will suit you best (in "note" section during the booking).

We try and go out on weekends.

We do not surf if the waves are too small or too big as it might be dangerous or no fun. We know this within three days prior to the surf school lesson.

You can rent a GoPro camera from us.

What to take with you?

We will provide you with all the necessary gear for surfing, including surfboard and wetsuit, but we would ask you to bring a swimsuit to wear underneath the wetsuit, a towel, warm clothes to wear prior and after the surfing, lunch or a snack (although we will bring hot chocolate), and a camera if you would like to take some pictures.

Where do we meet and where will the trip end?

Meeting place information:

We arrange pick-ups at the hotels in Reykjavik.
Please let us know by during the booking where would you like to be picked up.

Final destination:

Same as the meeting point

Your drop-off address will be the same as your pick up address.

Cancellation Policy - Benevolent

Cancellation more than 4 days prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
Cancellation within 48 to 96 hours prior to the starting date. Clients are entitled to a 50% refund of the booking price.
Cancellation less than 48 hours prior to the starting date. No refunds.
