All about the trip
Join us for this full day of exploring Seoul, including an exciting boat cruise along the river Han!
Our day begins by collecting you from your hotel in Seoul. Our first stop will be Cheongwadae Sarangchae. The newly opened Cheongwadae Sarangchae is a history centre that gives visitors a chance to follow in the footsteps of the past presidents of Korea and to gain insight into the incredible history of Seoul. It encompasses the past, present and even the future of Seoul as well as the entire nation. It serves as a tourist information centre that offers detailed information on World Cultural Heritage sites and assets.
Next up will be Namsan Hanok Village. The village of Namsan Honok comprises of five restored traditional Korean houses combined with a pavilion, a pond and also a time capsule. When you enter the front gate, you will see a vast valley and the Chunugak to the left of the pond. Built without any decorations; the pond contains only schools of carp that swim back and forth. Along with the pond, it is a splendid place where performances are held. On the side you will see five traditional houses. These houses belong to various social ranks of the past Korean society, from the common peasant to the king.
How would you then like to reach the highest point in Seoul? The Seoul N Tower is the perfect place to see the rest of Seoul from. Built on a 262 metre peak in Namsan Park, the tower sits 480 metres above sea level and allows you to view the entire city and surrounding areas. It's just great for photos!
First opened to the public in 1980, the Seoul Tower was designated as a major tourist attraction and known as the best tower in Asia. After 30 years of devoted support from tourists, it was remodelled in 2005 with a magnificent new look. The letter N signifies this ‘new’ look, and a total construction cost of 15 billion won was invested. No visit to Seoul is complete without visiting the N Seoul Tower.
After a delicious lunch and brief trip to the Ginseng Centre we will visit the COEX Aquarium.
The COEX Aquarium is spread out over a large area and showcases no less than 40,000 sea creatures, which come from 600 different species. The aquarium is unique in Korea because it has been designed around the theme of a “Water Journey”. Upon entering the museum, visitors will embark on an adventure that follows water on its journey from the high Andean mountains, through the Amazon tropical rainforest to swamps, rivers, seashores, and finally to the depths of the ocean. Visitors will get an in-depth look into some of the world’s most fascinating underwater creatures.
To finish this exciting day off we will enjoy a boat cruise along the Han River. This is without a doubt one of the best way to view Seoul’s lively river front areas and ferry ports.
The Hangang River flows through the heart of Seoul. Whilst on the cruise, you will be able to see Hangang River’s beautiful scenery, the surrounding islands, Jeoldusan Park, the 63 Building, Namsan Tower, Jamsil’s Multi Sports Complex and many other famous tourist spots.
This is an unforgettable way to spend a day in Seoul!
