All about the trip

We start our gastronomy journey from the traditional village of Emporio. We will make a stop to the old city of Castelli (castle) and admire the beautiful narrow streets and houses.

In order to continue our tour full of energy, we will stop at the traditional village Megalochori. We take you to the local coffee place for Greek coffee or juice. Though it’s a food tour we have to show you a small path where you can smell the sea and admire the wonder called Caldera.

The highlight of this tour is wine tasting at one of the oldest wineries of Santorini (Venetsanos Winery). We try some of the most famous and delicious dishes you can find on the island like tomato balls, ntolmadakia, fava, tomato paste, Santorinian salad, kitharompoukies, kritsinia, graviera cheese from Naxos and three wines, white, red and vinsanto.

For our journey back we follow a different road through the vineyards and we pedal next to the windmills of Emporio.

Please, be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes prior departure. If you are traveling with kids, please be at the meeting point 20-30 minutes in advance.

What to take with you?

Please, take comfortable clothes, shoes appropriate for cycling (avoid high heels and slippers). On hot summer days, use sunscreen and sunglasses.
