All about the trip
The first stop will be Ragusa Ibla: an ancient Baroque city in which you will be able to admire eighteenth-century churches and palaces on which important sculptors and architects worked, helping to create the famous "Baroque of the Val di Noto", of which the Cathedral of San Giorgio is its most representative expression. Immediately afterwards you will discover another jewel of Sicilian Baroque: Modica.
You will visit the beautiful town with its churches, facades of noble palaces, fountains, winding alleys, the Pizzo belvedere but also the churches of San Giorgio and San Pietro and the ruins of the castle that was never rebuilt. Here you will experience a real journey into the tradition of Sicilian cuisine thanks to an unmissable lunch in a typical local trattoria (lunch is on request).
Next you will head to the capital of Baroque: Noto. Rich in historic buildings of great artistic importance, palaces, churches, terraces and stairways, all built with the local stone, golden in color tending to pink. The discovery of the Baroque begins at Porta Reale: the city gate; you'll visit the cathedral of San Nicolò, whose construction began in the late 1600s, and the most important building, which is Palazzo Ducezio, the seat of the town hall built in 1700. A few steps away is Via Nicolaci, world famous for the Infiorata.
