All about the trip

Experience rafting or canoeing adventure in the beautiful nature of Bohemia Switzerland National Park. Drift along with the flow of the river between narrow walls of a sandstone canyon, watch the impressive rock formations and feel the tranquility of the deep woods. Visit the famous Bastei Bridge and explore the ruins of Neurathen castle.

After a 1.5-hour ride from Prague we arrive to the city of Děčín where we get into rafts and canoes and set off on our adventure. The river Elbe is perfect for a relaxing boat trip.

You can choose either a plastic durable double-seated canoe or a 7 to 9 seated raft. Paddles and life vests are provided as well.

We enjoy amazing ride through Europe's deepest sandstone canyon with massive rock formations. By boat we can enter the heartland of the national park which cannot be accessed on foot and we can enjoy the unique peace of the place.

After refreshing ourselves with a hearty lunch in a local restaurant we take a 30-min drive to Bastei Bridge. The sandstone bridge towers 194 m high above the river Elbe and offers fantastic views of the countryside.

We cross the bridge and visit the ruins of the 12th century rock fortress called Neurathen, once the largest rock castle in the region.

What to take with you?

Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Please bring shoes suitable for rafting or canoeing and a set of clothes to change into afterwards. Depending on the season please bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen or a light jacket.
