All about the trip

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pamukkale. Admire the natural wonder of the local thermal pools. Warm water of the Cleopatra's Pool invites for swimming. Feel tempted?

First, let's enjoy a ride through a beautiful countryside. Half-way through our journey we make a short stop to refresh ourselves. After around 3 hours we arrive to the ancient city of Hierapolis.

We explore the ruins of the city including large necropolis or cemetery with 1 200 graves and many sarcophagi. The remnants of Roman baths show elaborate decoration. They were constructed with huge stone blocks.

Right on the site of the ancient city of Hierapolis there are thermal springs. There, on a mountainside, you can see Pamukkale or "the Cotton Castle" formed by snow-white limestone terraces brimming with warm water. They have been used as a spa since 2nd century BC.

The cause of the thermal springs is an underground volcanic activity. The temperature of the water ranges from comfortable 35 °C (95 °F) up to 100 °C (212 °F).

Enjoy the luxury of the natural outdoor spa. Have a swim in the Cleopatra's Pool with fragments of ancient marble columns at its bottom.
