All about the trip

This is the only tour that slows down the pace enough to enjoy both Muir Woods National Monument and the charms of Sausalito. Spend a full 1 ½ hours gazing up to the canopy created by giant coastal redwoods before heading to Sausalito with time for shopping and lunch. This fully guided tour includes a photo stop at the northern span of the Golden Gate Bridge.

This guided tour allows you to fully experience Muir Woods, the giant redwood forest nearest to San Francisco. After boarding from your San Francisco hotel, you’ll make an inspiring stop after crossing the 1.7-mile span of the Golden Gate Bridge. We’ll make sure you have time to get the perfect photo.

Unlike other tours, after arriving at serene Muir Woods, you’ll spend a full 90 minutes exploring this natural treasure set aside by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1908 as a national monument.

There are many trails to choose from, all with views of towering coastal redwoods, some over 250 feet tall. Our favorite winds along shadowy Redwood Creek where the tallest trees are located. Be on the lookout for raccoon, deer, and the rare northern spotted owl.

Though Muir Woods is all about the giant redwoods, the area is host to 13 species of ferns, a plant that has been on earth for more than 300 million years. Take the time to identify lady, maidenhair and gold back ferns as you lower your gaze from the redwood canopy above you.

Then, we’ll re-board your vehicle and be off to Sausalito, the seaside community full of charm and unforgettable views of San Francisco.
