All about the trip

This Abu Dhabi Desert tour will give you a taste of the most exciting desert activities that the UAE has to offer! Experience the endless desert early in the morning when the sun is rising to turn the dunes into a beautiful crimson color.

The tour will begin with our safari captain picking you up from your hotel in a 4X4 Land Cruiser. From there you will be driven to the Abu Dhabi desert. Once you've arrived at the desert there will be a short break for the captain to prepare the vehicle for the dune bashing activity.

During this time the captain will review safety procedures with you and the group. The feeling of being suspended in the air as you ride the dune from crest to base is an exhilarating experience! The dune bashing session will last for about 45-minutes, making sure that you get the ultimate experience!

Next, you can try your hand at sandboarding, a product of Emirati ingenuity! Strap on the board and begin the race to the bottom, sandboarding is low-impact which makes this sport perfect for everyone. As you glide to the bottom, the captain will be there to catch your best moments on camera. However, if you want to try quad biking or dune buggy-ing there is an option to do so for an additional fee (please let us know if you'd like to try these activities a few days before your trip).

After experiencing the more modern desert activities, it will be time to try the most ancient form of desert transportation, camel riding! Ride a camel caravan style with friends and family and look out at the wonderous Arabian desert. You'll also visit a camel farm to learn about the different varieties of camels and how important they are to the Bedouin culture. After this visit, it will be time to leave the desert and head back to central Abu Dhabi! Please note that infants under 3 yrs, pregnant women, and people with heart or back problems cannot participate in this dune bashing activity.
During the holy month of Ramadan (5th may - 4th June), you can watch Tanoura dancing and fire shows only in our desert camps (Al Khayma) as there will be some restrictions for the belly dancing entertainment.

We recommend not eating 2-3 hours before the safari trip to avoid any vomiting or sickness during the dune bashing activity.

Where do we meet and where will the trip end?

Meeting place:

You will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel in Abu Dhabi. Please let us know the name of your hotel during the booking process.

Pick-up will be within 30 minutes of your booked time, for example, if your selected time is at 3:00 pm that means you can expect the guide any time from 3:00 to 3:30 and you should be ready at the hotel/building lobby from 3:00 pm. The duration of the tour includes the pick-up and drop-off times.
