Visit the Roman settlement and imperial stone quarry in Mons Claudianus discovered in 1823. Come back in time and see what quarrymen's life in the Eastern Desert in 1st century was like. Visit their temple and workshops and gain a new perspective on life from this peek in history.

We will pick you up in your Hurghada hotel before sunrise and drive you in Jeep to Mons Claudianus. We will have few stops on the way to enjoy the view of the sun rising or the beauty of the desert.

We will have our breakfast upon reaching the quarry and then start the exploration of the site. Mons Claudianus is situated halfway in between the Red Sea and the river Nile.

About 1000 people lived here from 1st to 3rd century. And you can see the remnants of their buildings including a bath, their workshops, stables and even an unfinished temple which was being constructed by Hadrian.
