All about the trip

Experience a magical levada walk with charming views of Madeira's mountains. Hike through ancient laurel and heather forests and admire the play of light filtering through the trees. Follow the trail of Levada do Furado and see the true beauty of Madeira's nature.

Our hike begins at Ribeiro Frio which is a popular starting point of many levada walks. There is a trout farm there where we can see pools teeming with the fish.

The trail leads next to the aqueduct of Levada do Furado. As we near Lamaceiros on the way a spectacular view of Porto da Cruz and Eagle Rock opens in front of us.

There is original vegetation there and we will go through laurel and heather forests with trees several hundred years old.

We will reach our destination in Portela full of memorable impressions.
