All about the trip

Experience a fantastic hike along the aqueduct of Levada da Serra de São Jorge. In Queimadas Forest Park you will find yourself an emerald green paradise. The exciting route leads through several tunnels. And there is the magnificent waterfall of Caldeirão Verde at the end of the hike.

We begin the 13-km journey at the Queimadas guesthouse surrounded by a fairy-tale forest. After a while magnificent views of mountains and villages below open in front of us.

The path follows the irrigation channel of Levada da Serra de São Jorge. There are several small tunnels and a waterfall on the way.

Nearing the end of the trip we arrive to the magnificent waterfall of Caldeirão Verde.

We enjoy our picnic and then continue towards Santana.
