All about the trip

We start our journey from Isafjordur and drive to the glacier area. There are a number of routes we can take to reach the glacier and we will select the safest route, depending on snow and weather conditions.

Our first destination is Mt. Hrolleifsborg, which stands majestically on the north-east side of the glacier. It‘s then a relatively easy walk to the summit from Drangajökull and you most certainly will not be disappointed by the picturesque view when we reach the top of Mt. Hrolleifsborg.

We will then head to the comfort of Reykjanes hotel for a good food and some time of rest and relaxation in their outdoor swimming pool before we head back to Isafjordur.

In Reykjanes there is very little light pollution, so when atmospheric conditions are right, the northern lights are truly spectacular to watch from the swimming pool.

This tour is not suitable for children. We highly recommend that you get good personal insurance when you take part in adventurous tours and expeditions like this one.

Instructions

Please, take note that glacier expeditions can be difficult, depending on weather and snow conditions. You will be expected to take part in all the action that comes with driving in such extreme conditions, for example, we’ll shovel some snow if the car gets stuck, and so forth.

What to take with you?

Don't forget to take your camera! We also recommend to take warm and waterproof Arctic clothing and footwear, good sunglasses and ski glasses.

Where do we meet and where will the trip end?

Meeting place:

We arrange pick-ups at the hotels in Isafjordur. Please let us know by email (info@ibctravel.is) where would you like to be picked up.

Final destination:

Your drop off address will be the same as your pick-up address.

Cancellation Policy - Medium

Cancellation more than 10 days prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
Cancellation within 4 to 10 days prior to the starting date. Clients are entitled to a 50% refund of the booking Price.
Cancellation less than 4 days prior to the starting date. No refunds.
