All about the trip

The canyons made of black lava walls of Alcantara Gorges are an unmissable attraction of Sicily. And this is only one of the places you are going to visit on this full-day excursion.

In the morning, you start your tour with a 4x4 ride in direction of secondary craters in the buttonhole of Etna volcano. You also have a chance to see the most recent lava flows, the caldera of Valle del Bove, and a lava cave. You will receive helmets with torches and our guide will tell you many interesting facts about lava cave origins. At about noon, you stop by an Etnean refuge where you are going to have a typical local lunch with an aperitif.

In the afternoon, you head to Valle dell Alcantara to admire the basalt columns and the volcanic canyon. Here you can relax and swim in the crystal clear waters of the river Alcantara surrounded by unspoiled nature.
