All about the trip

At the beginning of this activity, we will meet at Sólheimajökull parking lot, and our guides will give you some glacier gear and some instructions. After that, we can start the 15-minute hike to the glacier.

Once we reach the glacier, we will let you climb on an easy ice wall to teach you basic skills which are needed for ice climbing. After a basic introduction, we will try to climb in 3 different locations on the glacier. In your spare time, you can have snacks and enjoy the beauties of Icelandic nature. Do not forget to take the camera with you because you can make incredibly beautiful photos here.

What to take with you?

We recommend to wear warm clothes and good hiking shoes, a hat and gloves. Please, food and water for the day, hiking poles and sunglasses would be fine too.

We arrange pick-up and drop-off from Reykjavík. Please, let us know by email (info@northiceexpeditions.is) where would you like to be picked up and dropped off.

Cancellation more than 4 days prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
