All about the trip

A local favorite goal of many tourist trekking tours called Ruište can be found above Bijelo Polje, near Mostar. It is located some 1050 m above sea level and we will get there by 25 km long asphalt road from Mostar, through Bijelo Polje. Even if the temperature is unbearably high in Mostar, after driving for 30 minutes, you will find yourself in Alpine area within a cool shade of a forest. This magical mountain area creates a pleasant atmosphere and therefore it is no wonder that it became one of the most sought after locations of tourism in the area.

We will pass picturesque cottages and houses along the way and find ourselves on a trail going through mixed forest. Further well-marked trail will take us on a macadam road to a place that locals call "Čatrnja". We will pass through an abandoned stone quarry, which is now flooded. After further trekking, we will reach a mountain lodge "Adnan Krilic" in Bijele Vode. It is possible to stay here overnight, but this should be arranged in advance.

Please show up at the meeting point 15 minutes before the scheduled time. The tour starts at 8:30 and ends depending on the physical level of participants and the weather.
