All about the trip

Storhornet is located on Godøya, an island outside Ålesund and offers a beautiful hike combining maritime and alpine feelings. After a hike, you’ll get rewarded with a stunning 360° panorama over the Atlantic ocean, Ålesund and Sunnmøre Alps.

We start hiking from a beautifully located Alnes lighthouse. After reaching the first ridge, we will follow along the north side of Alnesvatnet. We will take a short detour to Johan Skytt, a rock stretching out over the edge. From here we follow the trail up to the summit. While you will enjoy a well-deserved rest and soak in the views, it will be clear to understand why this is one of our favorite hikes around Ålesund.

For those who don´t have a car, we can arrange a shuttle from our activity center to the starting point for an extra cost.
