All about the trip

Covering an area of 1,190 km² with a basal circumference of 140 km, Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe outside the Caucasus, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage. This tour is your chance to discover the less touristic places and fascinating views of the volcano.

Your adventure begins at Piazza Sant'Alfio, where you meet your friendly and knowledgeable guide. He leads you through trails of easy to moderate difficulty. The walking is done at a relaxed pace, being suitable for almost everyone, including groups or families.

In this route, you pass by the Valle del Bove (a vast natural amphitheater). From this point, you have a great view of the summit craters. Alternatively, you can reach lateral holes crossing the typical "lunar landscape." If you are with kids, this way could be better.

Whether direction you choose, you can perceive the volcanic landscape with your senses: you smell the woods and endemic plants; you see dramatic views; you can even hear the “voice” of the volcano.

What to take with you?

Don’t forget to bring your hiking shoes (also available for hiring), windbreaker jacket or sweatshirt, water, and camera.
You can rent shoes (3€), windbreaker jacket (2€), and hiking sticks (2€) from us.

We can also arrange a transfer from hotels in Catania and villages nearby Etna, from Taormina or other places outside the province.
