All about the trip

With a vast maze of rivers, swamps, and islands, the Mekong Delta is home to floating markets, Khmer pagodas, and villages surrounded by rice paddies. My Tho and Ben Tre are two of the main destinations of this area.

Your tour starts at about 7:45 when your driver and knowledgeable guide pick you up at your hotel to go straight to My Tho. The first stop is at Vinh Trang Pagoda, the largest Buddhist temple in Tien Giang Province designed in a mix of European and Asian architecture. Continuing the tour, you head to Ben Tre where you visit an orchard garden and can enjoy delicious fruits. When it is about noon, you have a break for a traditional lunch and can take a rest to recover your energies for the second part of this trip.

When you are ready, you go for a rowboat session, following the small creek to admire the rows of coconut trees of Khanh resort. Here, you can ride a bike around the village to visit local orchards, such as mango, rambutan, guava, plum, and more. If you prefer, you can rest in a comfortable hammock.

Next, you go to a coconut candy store in Ben Tre. Here you can see how these sweets are made and you can taste them to have a delicious experience before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City.
