All about the trip

If you want a full-package experience in Etna, this tour is for you. Half-day excursions allow you to visit only one side of the volcano. With our full-day Etna grand experience, you can also explore the opposite sides of the volcano.

Your tour starts with a safari onboard of a 4x4 vehicle. You drive to an altitude of 500 meters. From this point, you do a medium-easy level hiking to the territory of Etna park. As you explore the endemic vegetation, you follow a route that leads to an altitude of about 2,000 meters with dramatic views of this area.

When it is about noon, you stop by an Etnean mountain shelter where you are going to have your lunch. On the menu, you find delicious typical products, such as Sicilian cheeses, cold meat, homemade bread, and many other rustic dishes, plus wine doc of Etna, and coffee!

After that, you can relax a little bit to recover energies for the second part of your adventure. Back to the 4x4, you head in the direction to the lava flows which threatened entire countryside, extinct craters, the majestic Caldera Valle del Bove, the endemic flora and the typical vegetation of volcanic soils.

You also have the chance to go into meanders of the volcano, visiting a lava tube with helmets and torches to understand the phenomenon linked to flowing of the lava. Our guides will enrich your excursion by explaining the countless natural and volcanology aspects of the largest volcano of Europe, nominated UNESCO World Heritage.

Don’t forget to bring your hiking shoes (also available for rent), windbreaker jacket or sweatshirt, water, and camera.
You can rent shoes (3€), windbreaker jacket (2€), and hiking sticks (2€) from us.

We can also arrange a transfer from hotels in Catania and villages nearby Etna, from Taormina or other places outside the province.
