All about the trip
Escape from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis and rewind back to when life was simple. On this one day trip away from Bangkok, you will get to taste the colorful Damnoen Saduak floating market first hand, immerse yourself with the local culture along the canals and cycle through peaceful tracks into the fruit orchards and picturesque trails.
Wander by foot through our first floating market, Klong Lad Pli to see wooden houses perched on the edge of the canals including one that was once an opium den. Catch our trusty long tail boat at the vibrant Damnoen Saduak market. Feel the energy of Thailand’s biggest floating market as you hear the local women in their paddle boats call out their offers of fruits, vegetables and other local delicacies to passerbys. Feel free to exchange waves and laughter with the friendly locals as we weave through the canals cutting through villages and various plantations. This visit is truly eye-opening.
Time to hop in the saddle for a 25 km ride along quiet country back roads through coconut plantations and fruit orchards. Depending on the season, you can feast your eyes on a variety of tropical fruits as they ripen. A cultural trip is not complete without paying respect to the communities’ spiritual centers as we visit the 18th century Wat Bang Kung, a quirky temple held up by a huge banyan tree, and a sacred place for the soldiers during the time of war with Burma. We also get to admire the local craftsmanship at Wat Bang Khae Noi temple with its intricate teakwood carvings and enjoy picturesque trails to temple complex and local market as we end the day’s journey.
