All about the trip
Join us for an incredible day of exploring Seoul!
After collecting you from your hotel we head over to the famous '63 Building'. With 63 floors and measuring a height of 264 metres, the 63 Building is Korea’s tallest and most-recognised building. Offering incredible views over the Han river and the surrounding mountains of Bugaksan Namsan and Gwanaksan, so it is worth ascending to the top.
Since its original construction, the 63 Building has undergone considerable renovation and the basement floor now boasts facilities such as the 63 Sea World, 63 IMAX theatre, Korea’s greatest buffet restaurant “Buffet Pavilion” and a plethora of other restaurants.
Along the river, Noryangjin Fish Market is one of Korea’s largest seafood markets which comes alive with amazing and interesting seafood. Noryangjin Market is an extensive fish market located in the neighborhood of Noryangjin-dong in Dongjak-gu, Seoul.
Located east of the 63 Building and south of the Han River, it is fairly easy to get to. The Noryangjin Fish Market was originally established in 1927. In a poll of nearly 2000 foreign visitors, conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2011, it was stated that the market was one of their favourite places to see in Seoul.
After lunch we visit Gwangjang Market. Located in the Jongno 5-ga neighborhood in Seoul, Gwangjang Market was the nation’s first permanent traditional market. Established in 1905, the market today is home to more than 5,000 stores selling fabric, bedding, handmade crafts, ibaji food, and hanbok.
Many of Gwangjang’s stores and alleys have remained unchanged from the way they were in the past. It is not uncommon to find noodle restaurants and hanbok stores that have been in business for as long as three generations.
Specialties of the market include bindaetteok (mung bean pancake), mayak gimbap (seaweed roll), vegetables, bedding, imported living goods, hanboks, fabric, and vintage goods. The market operates from 9am to 6pm, except for the food market, which is open until 11pm. Gwangjang Market is closed on Sundays, but the food market is open all year round. Recently, the market was upgraded with modern restrooms and picnic areas.
Following on from the market, we will visit the Tteok Museum. Here you will view 2000 year old Korean kitchen utensils and tteok (rice cake) related items on display here.
After a long day of exploring and enjoying Seoul, we will return you to your hotel by private vehicle.
