All about the trip

Hiking near the alpine Dragonlake of Mount Tymphy is one of the most impressive attractions in the north of Greece. The hike starts from the village of Mikro Papigko in a wonderful uphill forest. As we will leave the green forest, we come across the alpine scenery and the outstanding rock formations, known as the Towers of Astraka. As soon as we reach Astraka’s mountain refuge, located at an altitude of 1950m we will enjoy lunch and then continue our hike towards the mythical Dragonlake. The north side of the lake offers breathtaking views of Smolikas mountain range and Aoös valley, whereas the east side offers wonderful views of the northwest Gamilla Mount. Our final destination is Mikro Papigo.
