All about the trip

Say hello to a bunch of barking huskies that are ready for action. You´ll ride the dog sled into the white landscapes, through the beautiful Vassdalen valley, an uninhabited forest landscape surrounded by majestic mountains.

On arrival at our wilderness camp, you'll receive outdoor clothes and boots to keep you warm during your tour. Experienced mushers will provide instructions about how to drive your dog team.

You will be riding in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each sled, with the opportunity to switch places half way. The trails you follow have a total distance of approximately 10-12 km, and you will be on the sled for about 1,5-2 hours. At the end of the trail, you will return to Camp Tamok, where you will be served a hot meal and fresh coffee in the dining lavvu (Sami herdsmen’s tent). After a relaxing and enjoyable meal, our bus will take you back to downtown Tromsø.

Daytime trips give you an amazing view of the untamed mountains in the area, while the evening trips will give you a good opportunity to experience the northern lights while driving the sled.

Pick-up is provided by bus or minibus at Samuel Arnesens Gate 9 by the harbor in downtown Tromso. The transfer time is 75 minutes to Camp Tamok: the start and end point of your excursion.

Instructions

Please show up at the bus 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time. The bus departs at the exact time to ensure full value of your day.

Please note that the dog sledding activity is somewhat physically demanding.

What to take with you?

Please bring warm undergarments (wool or fleece is recommended) as it can get very cold outside.

Cancellation Policy - Strict

Cancellation more than 30 days, prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
Cancellation within 30 to 10 days prior to the starting date. Clients are entitled to a 50% refund of the booking price.
Cancellation less than 10 days prior to the starting date. No refunds.
