All about the trip

Discover Desertas Islands south-east from Madeira. Sail in Bonita da Madeira ship and visit 3 uninhabited islands which form a unique natural reserve. Visit sea bird sanctuary and watch a rare species of monk seal. Admire dramatic scenery of cliffs and caves. Have a swim in crystal clear waters of a small bay.

We set sail from the Marina of Funchal in the direction of south-east. Desertas Islands lie 25 kilometers from Madeira. The natural reserve is formed by 3 isolated islands and its main purpose is to protect the rarest species of monk seal. It is also known as an important sea bird sanctuary.

After anchoring at Doca we take a break to swim or dive in the crystal clear waters of this small bay. We enjoy a delicious hot meal served on board.

Full of energy again we go ashore and explore the natural reserve on a guided tour.
