This is a tour of the most famous castles close to Braşov. If you want to learn about the history of this region and see majestic castles that withstood ages, you should not miss this tour!

From Braşov we will take a road that climbs up to Predeal Pass, ex-border between Transylvania and Valahia. Along the way, we will see panoramic views of the Bucegi Mountains.

First up is Peles Castle which was a former summer residence of Romanian royal family. There are two castles that form the so-called Peles complex in Sinaia. One of them is Peles and the other one Pelisor Castle. After admiring the architecture of these two structures, we will again pass through mountains to visit Transylvanian Rasnov Citadel. It was founded by Teuton knights, used during Middle Ages for the defence of the surrounding region. During modern times, the castle was used as a location for filming movies. From Rasnov we will continue to a nearby Bran Castle which is the most popular one in Romania. Castle was also founded by Teuton knights and upgraded during the centuries by the local population and rulers. It was used to defend Bran Pass, the gate between Transylvania and Valahia.
