All about the trip
Effortlessly achieve a century ride on this scenic route through the Northern Thai countryside. Flat and slightly undulating terrain set against the backdrop of magnificent mountains are the stage for a smooth and comfortable 100 kilometers.
The ride begins at the Mae Kuang Dam and the curious "Bridge to Nowhere," before moving into a ride along the canals fed by this massive reservoir. We take our first water break at 23 km on the grounds of Mae Jo University, and once refreshed, we head north and then west to a village with a restaurant specializing in northern Thai cuisine. Here we'll fill up on tasty local morsels and restore our energy. After lunch, we again follow a canal towards the finish line at the Mae Sa Waterfall of Doi Suthep to enjoy a rewarding fresh dip after a successful century.
This moderate, primarily flat ride will have you cruising through the kilometers as you take in the scenery and enjoy yourself. Ascend 500 meters in total and climb over the day's only significant hill to the top of the dam at the start of the ride. Roads are primarily rural and on smooth tarmac, but with an unavoidable short section on the main road, however, there is a wide shoulder for safety. Your expert guide knows the route well and will accompany you the entire way. All you have to do is concentrate on your ride and enjoy the views.
Your ride will be punctuated with breaks for refreshments. Water, soft drinks, and snacks are all included, while you take in the views of the fabulous valleys and mountains within the countryside. The ride is fully vehicle supported, should you need to rest in the support van at any point.
