All about the trip

Start your day with a private pick-up from your accommodation in Chiang Mai. Drive for a little more than two hours to the trekking starting point on the border between Chiang Dao and Phrao provinces. Enjoy refreshing trekking in the lush forest and countryside for 1 to 1,5 hours. Take in amazing panoramic scenery from several viewpoints and reach the area of 5 tribal villages that are incredibly different from one another. This is your special occasion to explore and learn about the lifestyles of Palong, Karen, Lisu, Lahu, and Akha tribes. You can even support them by buying their crafts.

Enjoy a typical Thai lunch and drive another 1,5 hours to Bua Tong or "Sticky Waterfalls" on the way back to Chiang Mai. These waterfalls are famous because the rock they flow over is made from limestone and mineral deposits, making the surface unusually sticky so that you can walk up to the top with some help from the strategically placed ropes. The journey to your accommodation will take another hour and you will return sometime in the afternoon based on your pace and wishes during the day.

If you would like to be picked up outside of Chiang Mai city (Mae Rim, Sankampaeng, or similar) additional charges may apply. Please enquire about the options.

If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance. We can provide vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, milk-free meals, and other alternatives.

What to take with you?

Please bring your camera, comfortable shoes, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, bathing suit, towel, change of clothes, water, snacks, toilet paper, and your medicine. We recommend you to wear clothes that cover your knees and shoulders. They are appropriate if you want to visit a tribal village, a village school or a Buddhist temple, and also help to avoid sunburn.

If you travel between December and March, pack some warm clothes. During the rainy season, please bring a raincoat (no umbrella).

Where do we meet and where will the trip end?

Meeting place:

You will be picked up from your hotel in Chiang Mai city (15 km area around the old city), or from
the Chiang Mai airport, Chiang Mai train station, or any Chiang Mai bus station. Please let us know the name of your hotel or the location you wish to be picked up from during the booking process.

Final destination:

Same as the meeting point

Cancellation Policy - Strict

Cancellation more than 30 days, prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
Cancellation within 30 to 10 days prior to the starting date. Clients are entitled to a 50% refund of the booking price.
