Discover the unique region of Cappadocia with its natural wonders and rich history. Explore the fascinating Kaymakli Underground City where caves reach several floors below the ground. Enjoy a short hike in a beautiful nature of Ihlara Canyon.

Kaymakli Underground City is one of the treasures and most intriguing sites of Cappadocia. Its caves had been inhabited since 8th century BC. Early Christians have used the caverns as an effective defence system which protected them from persecution. There is 100 tunnels in the city, many storage rooms, stables and a church.

A short break at the heart-shaped Lake Nar is a perfect opportunity to make some amazing pictures. The lake basin is a result of volcanic activity and there is a number of hot springs around the lake.

Now it is time to explore Ihlara Canyon on a 3.8-km hike by the riverside. We can admire a beautiful nature of the valley and visit some of its many Byzantine churches.

Our last stop is the Sarihan Caravanserai. It served as a residence for merchants and their camels since 13th century.

What to take with you?

Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. We recommend to wear shorts, not a skirt that may be inconvenient for the countryside tour. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera. In spring and autumn please bring a light jacket or raincoat with you.
