All about the trip

Visit the sights of Cappadocia away from the main touristic roads. Discover Soğanlı Valley inhabited by Byzantine monks from the 9th till 13th century. Explore Cappadocia’s most important archaeological site of Sobesos with ruins of a Roman city. See the rock-cut Keşlik Monastery. Admire the amazing colors of Red Valley on a short hike.

You can see a hundred of rock-cut churches in Soğanlı Valley. One of them – the Cupola Church – is contained within a single fairy chimney. There are houses cut in the soft tuff stone and many monasteries as well.

We continue to the Roman city of Sobesos. You can see remains of a bathhouse with a floor heating there and the Church of the Forty Martyrs with amazing frescoes.

Our next stop will be Keşlik Monastery with the 9th-century Stephanos Church. In the charming village of Sinassos you can admire beautiful Greek architecture.

The last waypoint of our Cappadocia tour is a 2-hour hike in Red Valley. Its landscape offers breathtaking views of the colorful scenery.

What to take with you?

Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. We recommend to wear shorts, not a skirt that may be inconvenient for the countryside tour. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera. In spring and autumn please bring a light jacket or raincoat with you.
