All about the trip

The activity begins with canoeing in the Furnas lake. In a calm way, invoking the tranquility of the location, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of this place. On the banks of the lake, and due to volcanic activity, one can see where the traditional stew Cozido da Furnas is cooked. The return is made by the central part of the lake, to enjoy the surroundings of the site. After lunch in a restaurant in Furnas village, we start the mountain bike ride. Its a circular route (10,5 km) which starts in Furnas village and follows to calderas area by Lagoa das Furnas, continuing on a rough dirt road that surrounds the lake. The highest point of this tour is located in the area of Pico dos Milhos, where you can admire the parish. The descent is made by secondary paths leading back to the point of beginning. After finishing the activity, it is time to return to Ponta Delgada by the North coast of the island.

Until 18 years must be accompanied by parents or guardians, or bring a written permission.

What to take with you?

Please bring a swimsuit, casual footwear that can get wet (sandals, for example), towel, hat, sunscreen, backpack, change of clothes to wear after the activity, suitable footwear for mountain biking, comfortable clothing, light jacket, extra t-shirt or sweater, water, snack, sunglasses.
We recommend to bring lycra shirt, neoprene shoes, neoprene gloves, windbreaker jacket, proof bag (to keep the phone and/or the camera), MTB gloves, hydration bag, clip shoes and pedals.
