All about the trip

Explore the mysterious landscape and stunning nature of Bohemian Switzerland National Park on an easy hike. Take a boat ride on the river Kamenice between narrow sandstone walls. Visit the picturesque village of Hřensko and admire the dramatic Bastei Bridge in the German part of the park.

This is an easy walking tour of 6 to 7 km taking a comfortable route.

We begin our exploration of Bohemian Switzerland National Park on a boat ride through the gorges of the Kamenice river. The heartland of the park is accessible by a small river boat only and it is where the famous Narnia movie was shot.

In mid-day we take a break to taste Czech cuisine and enjoy delicious lunch in a local restaurant.

Our next stop is the small village of Hřensko on the border with Germany. We can see half-timbered houses here and breathe in the tranquility of the picturesque village.

We continue to the German part of the national park where we see the Bastei rock formation towering 194 m above the Elbe river. We cross Bastei Bridge and visit the 12th century rock castle of Neurathen.
