All about the trip

Our driver will meet you at the Izmir harbour, ADB airport or even at your hotel in Izmir or Kusadasi.

We will pass through some very beautiful countryside where you can also get a sense of true Turkish traditional lifestyle. The drive shall be approx. 2½ hours for Aphrodisias from the east of Kusadasi, but halfway through we will have a short break for refreshments and leg stretch.

As we arrive at the ancient metropolis of Aphrodisias known for its schools of philosophy and sculpture there are many incredible sights to look forward to. See its huge stadium, one of the best preserved structures of its kind in the Mediterranean and admire a monumental gateway to the city.

Aphrodisias was named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. Its remnants as well as its museum give a vivacious idea of an ancient center of education, commerce, arts and crafts.

The stadium was primarily built for athletic events and later used as a theatre as well. The total of 30 000 people can sit in its auditorium. The impressive gateway to the city consists of 2 arches, each with 8 columns.

The museum of Aphrodisias displays a great collection of artefacts found during excavations and we can visit it to see all artifacts with our own eyes.

Once the tour comes to an end it will be time to get back on the bus and to be driven back to your allocated drop off points.
