All about the trip

Visit the ancient metropolis of Aphrodisias known for its schools of philosophy and sculpture. See its huge stadium, one of the best preserved structures of its kind in the Mediterranean, and take a delightful bath in the Cleopatra's Pool in the outdoor thermal spa of Pamukkale. Enjoy the experience at your own pace on a private tour.

Our driver will meet you at the Izmir harbour, ADB airport or even at your hotel in Izmir or Kusadasi early in the morning. You will head for Aphrodisias which was named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. Its remnants as well as its museum give a vivacious idea of an ancient center of education, commerce, arts and crafts.

Among other things, you will see a stadium here primarily built for athletic events and later used as a theatre as well. The total of 30 000 people can sit in its auditorium. The museum of Aphrodisias displays a great collection of artefacts found during excavations.

From here we drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pamukkale.

We explore the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis including large necropolis or cemetery with 1 200 graves and many sarcophagi. The remnants of Roman baths show elaborate decoration.

Right on the site of the ancient city of Hierapolis there are thermal springs. The snow-white limestone terraces brimming with warm water have been used as a spa since 2nd century BC.

The temperature of the water ranges from comfortable 35 °C (95 °F) up to 100 °C (212 °F).

Enjoy the luxury of the natural outdoor spa. Have a swim in the Cleopatra's Pool with fragments of ancient marble columns at its bottom.

Once the tour comes to an end it will be time to get back on the bus and to be driven back to your allocated drop off points.
