All about the trip

Explore Madeira with a cool and classic Fiat Panda 4x4 on this 4-hours private safari tour. Your guide will make your adventure fun and easy, and Madeira will give you an excellent reason to explore this astonishing island in the Atlantic.

Your adventure begins with your guide picking you up from your accommodation in Funchal. After that, you go straight to Caniçal, the oldest geological part of Madeira. From here, you can see Ponta de São Lourenço, and stop by a fisherman village. The visit lasts about 30 minutes, so you can observe the island from north to south and see how different the landscape of Madeira is according to the place you are.

Afterwards, you drive to Santo António da Serra to explore the Laurissilva forest. This part of the island is classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Here, you can see endemic species of plants and insects, and also fill your lungs with pure fresh air. Meanwhile, your guide talks briefly about safety to have a risk-free off-road adventure. He explains the basics of off-road driving, and then you jump to the driver's seat.

Now you go through Funduras in direction to Portela on a trail full of beauty and fun. Diversion is guaranteed even during the winter when you can find many mud puddles all along the way!

Once you finish this leg of your adventure, you have a break in an authentic local bar for a session of Poncha tasting, a local alcoholic beverage made with sugar cane rum.

After this injection of "courage," you start another off-roading session towards Santo Antônio da Serra. You stop by a Levada, where you can have a short walk to stretch your legs before going back home.

On the way back to Funchal, you drive through old roads, where you can see all the vineyards that are used to make the Madeira Wine.
