All about the trip

Covering an area of 1,190 km2 with a basal circumference of 140 km, Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe outside the Caucasus, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage. This tour is your chance to know Etna park in a unique way.

Your adventure begins at Piazza Sant'Alfio, where you meet your friendly and knowledgeable guide. You can choose your route from two types of the trip according to typology and difficulty: the standard tour includes jeep ride and easy hiking and is suitable for almost everybody; the trekking tour is for those who prefer to walk all along the way. In the case of an active eruption, the itinerary may be changed to enjoy the show from the best panoramic position safely.

Whichever type of tour you choose, this adventure takes you to visit some of the most spectacular places of this natural wonder, such as Valle del Bove, lateral craters and ancient lava flows of different ages. Following your route, you cross lunar landscapes and enjoy the colors of the sunset from an altitude of 2,000 meters.

Moreover, you go down into the meanders of the volcano, visiting a lava cave with helmet and torches. The tour ends with a sweet aperitif based on wine and almond sweets to celebrate all the beautiful things you saw during the trip.

What to take with you?

Don’t forget to bring your hiking shoes (also available for rent), windbreaker jacket or sweatshirt, water, and camera.
Consider that the tour takes place during the afternoon and we reach 2000 meters where temperatures may be cold also in summer. We recommend to dress warmly.

You can rent shoes (3€), windbreaker jacket (2€), and hiking sticks (2€) from us.
